Five Core Tenets

Safety

Our five core tenets

Quality Safety Performance Integrity Value

“There is no task so urgent that we cannot take the time to think, plan and perform it safely.”

At OnPower, safety is a top priority.  It is center to everything we do and is deeply embedded in our culture.  Our mantra is that every employee will go home at the end of the day in as good, if not better, condition than he or she arrived to work.

OnPower employees, management and leadership team understand that safety is not just a company or regulatory requirement but also individual commitment and responsibility.   Both the company and its employees collectively and individually take responsibility for our personal safety in addition to the safety of our coworkers, customers and the public at large.

OnPower’s management works closely with its employees, customers and industry partners to create a safety oriented ecosystem involving all stakeholders.  This approach coupled with proper safety equipment, education and training, processes, inspections, and audit programs have resulted in our current near perfect four-year record of zero recordable incidents.

OnPower employee safety related training includes OSHA-10, OSHA-20, MSHA, CPR, First Aid, MOT Flagger, and Intermediate MOT certification.  Employees also receive regular safety training provided by the Southeast Line Construction Apprenticeship and Training  (SELCAT) in conjunction with the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC).   OnPower further promotes training and safety leadership development of its field supervision and management through our membership with the Utility Safety and Ops Leadership Network (USOLN).

OnPower’s safety record and programs are continuously monitored, reviewed and audited by ISNetworld.  We take great pride in consistently maintaining an ISNetworld Review and Verification Services (RAVS®) contractor/supplier safety Dash Board rating of a full “A” grade .
